Interesting. I have been looking for Betsy Balcombe's memoirs for 8 yrs now. Very rare.

I started writing screenplays in 1997 with a view to having a Napoleon in exile screenplay written and produced by 2004 (December 2nd of this year is the 200th anniversary of Napoleon's coronation and a lot of interest will be generated this year). So much for my goal. I figured my book on PILS would get me the attention needed to sell my ideas to Hollywood. But I never got my book or any of my screenplays published. [img]redface.gif[/img]

I wrote an episode for the X-Files but couldn't get Fox to discuss it without an agent. I wrote a Star Trek Next Generation script for a movie and was again told to get an agent before any studio would look at anything. I was able to get a phone call from Gene Rodenberry's widow's office suggesting I submit it to the person who had already rejected it. I wrote a fictional account on PILS called "In The Name of Research" and ofcourse my factual book on PILS. I never could even get an agent. I would have thought the newspaper stories would have helped, but they didn't. Nobody cared.
